UHPC
UniKreteTM UHPC Advantages
- The very high density of the UHPC is beneficial to its durability.
- Greater spans, thinner profiles, more complex geometries, and higher performance in
extreme climates.
- Excellent flexural and compressive strength
- Excellent freeze-thaw performance
- High resistance to salt
- Lack of heat conductivity (important in planter, exterior furniture)
- High Abrasive / scratch resistance
- Non combustible and fire resistant due to high dose of silica fumes
Microstructure Properties
- UHPC high strength is predominately due to its much denser hardened cement matrix.
- It is easy flowing as it has fine-grained mix with a maximum size of less than 0.8 mm. Therefore the internal microstructure is much more homogenous and compact than customary concretes and it is essentially more uniformly stressed by external actions..
- UHPC can be used to build safe structures provided it is reinforced with fine high strength steel fibers and with sufficient high fiber content the tensile strength can be increased therefore eliminating the need to use further reinforcements.
- Reduction in cross section
